Our welders handle steel, aluminum and miscellaneous components partially or completely. They also handle and position work with or without the use of fixtures; select proper electrodes and holders; and regulate current and time. Must be able to MIG weld components into unit using mechanical blueprints. Also must be able to space number of welds in accord with varying conditions and materials to achieve proper fusion, strength and finish while avoiding distortion and burning.
Essential Requirements:

- Assemble product using mechanical blueprints, operator instruction worksheets and/or verbal order
- Obtain material for operations to be performed
- Fasten parts together with screws, clamps, nuts, industrial glue or other components, with or without tools
- MIG weld steel parts together
- Remove materials with or without tools
- Complete all functions associated with the building of parts in a timely manner and produce quality work
- Package, count, seal, inspect, clean, sort and/or prepare materials, parts and/or finished goods
- Perform safety and housekeeping duties
- Participate in required training and apply safety skills/knowledge
- Participate in continuous improvement teams and/or empowerment teams
- Utilize S.P.C. tools including gauging and other quality tools
- Possess personal hand tools and toolbox according to the employee handbook
- Accurately complete required documentation
- Participate in training of co-workers in all aspects of job responsibilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Parts Supervisor, other supervisors as required and/or Manufacturing Manager
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Possess post-high school or vocational training in MIG welding or work experience equivalent
- Demonstrate proficiency in MIG welding – demonstrated by pre-employment welding test
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading tape measures and other measuring devices
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematics (fractions, decimals, conversions, etc.)
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the various types/forms of steel
- Possess and apply skill and ability to use hand electric/pneumatic tools
- Possess and apply knowledge of basic mechanical skills in various operations
- Possess and apply skill and ability to read mechanical blueprints
- Demonstrate ability to think ahead and manage time effectively
- Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This position will require the following: walking, sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects/tools/controls, using vibratory tools, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, talking and hearing.
- Qualified candidates will be required to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and may be required to lift up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
- While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to a noise level that is usually minimal but may be elevated at times.
