Pop-Up Pusher Device (PUP)

This device, which is utilized for transfer of product onto perpendicular conveyors, employs a recessed Head Assembly, which pivots “up” from behind the product and pushes it onto a perpendicular conveyor.

Description

This unit is also used for palletizing applications and transfer of product onto protective base sheets (requires optional Sheet Clamp). Six inches of available overstroke is included to ensure product is fully transferred onto the perpendicular conveyor. This unit is an integral part of a Non-Power (NP), Power Live (PLR), or Power Accumulating (PARC) Roller Conveyor. Integral Take-Up Assembly is included for Power Conveyor applications.

Features

Transfer Head: Two 1/2” Steel Sideplates mounted to 4-1/2” Dia. Tapered Ultra High Molecular Weight (U.H.M.W.) Wheels are connected to a 3-1/4” x 2” Tubular & Structural Steel Head Assembly. Head is driven by two (2) #60 chains connected to a common 1-1/2” dia. shaft mounted in precision pillow block bearings.
  • Head rides in structural channel sideframe with Upper & Lower Cam Followers for guidance of the Head in the “Up” and return to the “Home” position.
  • Optional “Wiper Strip” available for sheet transfer applications.
  • Optional “Non-Power Rollers” provided across the Pusher Head to aid in pallet conveyance.
Drive: 1 hp totally enclosed industrial rated motor mounted to an in-line reducer for the speed reduction as specified. Drive motor with in-line reducer is grease filled and maintenance free for a 2-year period. Drive Package is located within and under the device.
  • Rotary Limits switch with #40 Chain & Sprocket Connection to the Drive Shaft provides adjustable Forward (Overstroke) Head position.
Preassembly: Unit is wired and (if applicable) plumbed to a junction box at the factory. Conveyor Height: 12” TOR minimum with Leg and Device Extensions available for other heights. Speed: 45, 60 fpm available. Capacity: 5,000 lbs. maximum. Voltage: System Voltage is 230/460 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz with 115 volt, single phase control voltage.
